Post Eye Operation, Anesthesia causes Swelling on the Face

Continuing with the series on post operative care for eyes, today we will talk about swelling on the face after eye surgery. The swelling on the face is a result of the anesthesia given before operation. At times, patients are told to keep the face down in order to avoid dizziness. When we keep our face down for a long time, the fluid gets accumulated on the face resulting in swelling. The swelling is not harmful and does subside on the same day of operation itself.
