Astigmatism

  

Astigmatism is a defect in the eye’s lens caused by an error in the shape of the cornea or lens. Though the main cause of  this refractive eye error is not yet known, but it is largely considered to be inherited. In this lens and cornea are not smooth which leads to light rays not being refracted properly at the retina, which is situated at back of the eye. Its symptoms include  blurry eyes, distorted vision, eyestrain, headache, squinting or general discomfort in the eyes. It can be only diagnosed after a detailed eye examination.The treatment depends on types includes using of lens or surgery (Lasik).
