Use contact lenses? follow these simple tips for better eye care


•Wash your hands with mild soap and wipe with lint free tissues before handling the lenses or touching your eyes.
•Avoid using creams, deodorants or perfumes before inserting your lenses.
•When handling lenses, work over a clean flat surface.
•If you drop the lens, touch and pick it with a wet forefinger using a solution. Clean and rinse with the contact lens solution before inserting.
•Clean, rinse and store the lens with the recommended contact lens solution after every use.
•Always keep a pair of spectacles handy.
•Remove lenses while swimming.
•Consult your contact lens specialist if you have an unexplained redness, persistent pain, discomfort, and change in vision, excessive tearing, light sensitivity or unusual eye secretions.

Beware of damage of Diabetes on eye sight

We know Diabetes is a lifestyle problem and that it affects all our body organs.Where we are well aware Diabetes can cause heart problems,we are not as well aware of damage uncontrolled Diabetes can cause to our vision.Diabetes causes,Diabetic retinopathy,which is the most common cause of vision loss among people with diabetes and a leading cause of blindness among working-age adults.And tragedy is vision once lost can not be reversed.We can at best limit the damage.So remember,if you are diagnosed with diabetes,go for regular eye examination as only a Doctor can spot symptoms of Diabetic Retinopathy.As a lay man you will not realise that you have a serious eye problem.
The best treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy is prevention and early detection.

Eye diseases in the kids

A child may suffer from different eye diseases.Among the more serious one is ‪#‎Amblyopia‬,a condition in which one eye has poor vision as compared to the other eye.The symptoms are blurry eyes,as parents one can not detect it just by looking.Only a specialist can diagnose this.This can be pretty dangerous and if ignored can lead to permanent vision loss in the infected eye.
