Floaters may be indicative of an approaching retinal problem

A number of people see floaters in their vision, especially while outdoors in bright light. These floaters are usually seen as tiny black or gray dots or threadlike strands.

Generally they do not harm vision as such but the moment they are accompanied by sudden flashes of light or slight loss of vision, immediate treatment is mandatory as that might be sign of an approaching retinal problem.
