Continuing with the series on Glaucoma Awareness, do you know why Glaucoma develops and how it affect our eyes?
Glaucoma is mainly caused due to increase in pressure in the eyes. When the pressure of fluid in eyes rises excessively, it starts damaging our optic nerve which may lead to loss of vision. Though rarely, but it can also be caused by chemical or blunt injury, eye infections, severe eye inflammation or blockage of blood vessels in eyes.
Remember, a regular eye examination is a must to protect yourself from Glaucoma, especially if you have a family history.
