Do you know that Cornea is the only donatable organ of our body that can
help more than one person! Our Cornea consists of few layers and during
a Corneal Transplant, not all the layers are needed to be replaced.
Also, the surgery is mostly performed on parts of cornea and not the
complete Cornea. So, a donor of one single Cornea can help in restoring
vision of around 2-3 people.
More awareness needs to be spread among
masses on eye donations and how it can help in giving sights to
thousands.
