Tips to protect your vision while working on computer

Computers are now part and parcel of our life and nothing works without them.Where as it has immensly benefited us , it can cause vision problems as well.By following tips,we can to a large extent protect our vision while working at computers

Keep sufficient distance from the screen and make sure you are seated comfortably and head is balanced on the neck.Further the back rests on the chair.Proper ergonomics should be followed.
 

It is advisable to move away from the screen every 20-30 minutes.This can reduce eye fatigue which can be a cause of near sightedness.

Wearing special glasses can also be considered.
 

And remember to get eye check up done on a regular basis as due to working on computers for long hours,you face higher risk of developing vision problems.

Importance of regular eye examination of kids

Eye examination for early detection of vision problems in kids is a must.According to an estimate,10% of the kids in the age group of 3-5 have vision problems and this number goes up to 25% for school going kids.The best way to prevent this is regular eye examination of the kids and not wait for symptoms to appear.It is recommended that newborn kid should have his eyes checked at 6 months of age.Examination should be done again at the age of 3 and onwards,once a year.

When you wake up,remember to wash eyes with cold water.It freshens up your eyes and removes tiredness from them.
As far as possible don't read a book lying on the bed.It puts strain on your eyes.
Don't work on smart phones,computers with out break.Keep taking short breaks.Electronic devices are par

t of our life but use them only when required.There is no denial that rays from these do affect our vision.
At least once a day ,do an eye exercise.Move your eye balls from one side to another and viceversa.
Have atleast seven-eight hours of sound sleep
In bright sunlight wear uv protected sunglasses
Have good amount of seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Sense difficulty of any type in the vision,don't delay meeting a Doctor.
Don't self medicate in case of any eye problem.
